You Can’t Stop the Revelry!

It's been a crazy year, but now it's time to let the good times roll with a special walking tour to celebrate Mobile as the birthplace of Mardi Gras! The Mardi Gras Tour is Mobile’s creative effort to preserve the revelry and traditions of Mardi Gras during the pandemic. Since we cannot have large crowds to see parades, homeowners have decorated their houses to look like Mardi Gras floats. Working with float artists, these creative homeowners have chosen themes and rented colorful sculptures for their yards and porches. Our Secret History guides will lead guests past 30 houses in the historic Oakleigh Garden District neighborhood. This walking tour will include tons of gorgeous houses in the Historic Oakleigh neighborhood lavishly decorated for Mardi Gras. Your costumed guide will lead you past historic homes and tell you the secret history of Mardi Gras in Mobile.
